Summer Holidays

 The summer holiday took off not as planned. Kids went to France while I went to Philippines. My godfather died, he was almost a father to me since my dad passed away in 1997.  From the airport I went straight to the memorial saloon and took my place in vigil with all the family. I had a heartbreaking chat with my ninang. When my ninong was brought home (he was my neighbor in brazaville), every night we were spending time with friends and family until the internment . I really felt sad knowing I lost another precious person in my life.

While I was in brazaville, I took some activities like arranging again and follow up the finishing works which was going on that time. My two architects could have just follow thru the remaining tasks until it was done but since I was there, I was indeed busy.

Since I initially planned to go to Cebu to see my sister whom I was not able to see during the easter break, I went ahead with the plan. Barbs told me that Lanie and Amy will be in Cebu then.  So I was so excited, looking forward to see them. The day Lanie arrived in Mariott, I was just on my way to having breakfast when I spotted her. I was not so sure it was her but when I saw Andrew, I was convinced. We had a warm hello together. Such a nice moment to see Lanie in the flesh. We went shopping after breakfast and I spent the early afternoon with her in her room. I finally decided to take a nap while waiting for the arrival of Mme Amy. And opppss!!! I was waiting for the elevator and when it opened, la voila, Babie called my name, someone I don't know yet and there and then Dhay Ams recognized me. Hey!! she was so surprised to see me. Di ba, dhay Ams? what on earth am I doing in cebu when am suppose to be in France??? long story to tell.  Anyway, we all get acquainted, they went to their room to freshen up and we all went to the place of Babie in Talisay thereafter. It was a nonstop chatting and giggling. Went shopping in Ayala mall. Then we all went out for dinner together and keep on with our hellos ....and smiles. We can't break the moments that we decided to stay in the hotel lobby for some baileys and music. Came then 2 lovely young ladies and was so glad to meet Ylan and Glory. It's a pity we don't have that much time but we did the most we can. The next day was rather the obvious adio, still we try to consume the time we had together. Babie went back to Talisay, Amy to her place and I went to see my sister and my niece and keep on with the shopping in Ayala. Finally we got to be back in Negros. It was a long day for me but worth the time spent both with friends and my sister.

 A week before my scheduled flight back, I decided to offer to the Lord our new addition in brazaville. It's not yet fully furnished yet I thought it would be better to entrust it to God's care before I left. Then Babie surprised me with a call that she is on her way to brazaville. She did mention to me she would love to come but I was not sure she would make it.  Thanks Babie for the visit, we were delighted to have you with us..So we had our baptist church pastor prayed for the new addition and have dinner with the invited guests. It was a lovely evening specially I was able to convince my mom to stay for the night. I will miss my family and friends and I will always look forward to go back home.

  While I was in Philippines. Colleen and Alex were having fun touring the Alps. They went mountain climbing with their cousins for a week, they enjoyed. Then I took off to Bacolod & spent 3 days doing some errands for the resort.  Flew to Bangkok and while waiting for Steph, I went around Bangkok again just to see more of the city. It was a nice sight seeing but less enjoyable since I was alone. Then, my steph came and we took a night off before our flight to Paris. The next day, we have our bounties waiting for us and we right away drove to the southwest of France in Periguex(near Bordeaux). We spent 2 nights there as we celebrated Colleen's special day. Time to move on to Leslande where my parents' in law  waited for us with impatience. The rented place looks nice, not far from it was a lushful pine forest.  It was so good to finally have a landing and for 3 weeks, we got to see the whole family of steph, enjoy the beach in low tide, the pool, the sight seeing, tennis with cousins and the foods together. I get to enjoy running in the pine forest with steph and colleen.  We visited Dax a city nearby, then Vieux boucou, Mesanges, Soutons, all those small towns which looks really nice. We were in one lake or the beaches each time. On rainy days, we stayed in the house reading each our books. Such a bad august in France in terms of weather.

Then back to Paris for steph's flight to Dhaka. I was left with Colleen and Alex. My days were spent putting in place things for Colleen. Intermittently, visited Paris again, meet with Lucille and Amor and seeing all the rest of the families, either together for lunch or dinner. This time I enjoyed so much time spent with my sister in-law who organised lots of activities for us.

Hello ate Phoebs! I enjoyed reading your vacation escapades, it's very well detailed as always. I am sorry about the passing of your godfather. I know it's tough for you and his families, but it's nice that you were able to see him for the last time. I have seen your get-together photos with Madam Amy and Lanie, nakakainggit kayo. Ang galing at nakapagkita-kita kayo lahat dun, na-surpresa pa si Madam Amy. It's very nice to see you all having fun together. You had a very hectic schedule, yet you put up everything into place. You're amazing ate Phoebs, one of a kind! You sure had the grandest time with your family, friends and relatives. That's really wonderful! Got your email na pala, thanks ha? I'll try to get you back when Ninev and I got back. Aalis kasi kami ngayon and spend our time with our good friends in the city. We will be back maybe on Saturday night.
