Take a glimpse of us on the horizon of dawn and twilight glare of expatriated lives

The dunes of our whereabouts
. Thanks for sharing. Sige until here for now, regards me. As for us, we're ok din, same as usual, nagka new baby lang 2 kids na mayroon ako.

We have made two trips to Dubai, the first one was during the summer month of June and it was terribly hot, up to 45 degrees. I remember, there was no cold water in our hotel in the morning. All the water pipelines were already heated by the sun. It was cooler in the evening yet we decided to cut short the tour because of too much heat. That was the year when
It was still a foreign city for us, not knowing anyone there except just the 3 of us finding our way. We rented a car with a driver and tour around the city.

The creek of dubai and its famous skycrapers
We visited first the

The Jumeirah Mosque
On our last day, we booked a desert car safari, a dune driving experience we looked forward with excitement. Our driver picked us up in our hotel, very kind and accomodating one. We passed in front of hectares of land of the king's palace. This off-road adventures took us from the bustle of
As the sun descends into the horizon, we stop to take photos of the sunset while standing on top of the fading desert dunes. Desert sunset is really beautiful, the color of the sun mixed with the fading light is just a magnificent view to look at. Then we start to move again, this time with one wheel side on a stiff descent, we shrieked and laughed with excitement as the car goes up and down the dunes. Alexandre is undefeated for calmness. The rides gave him an easy smiles of fun and excitement. Finally, it's getting dark. We have to make an offshot uphill climb at one stand. I was scared thinking we might be stucked up in the desert at night time. We buckled up again. took a breath, our experienced and excellent driver position the car well and accelerated to the max, climbing uphill non-stop. He made it with a steady stop and we applauded a job well done. A car went down backward as it did not accelerate enough. We almost bumped on it but our driver swivelled quickly to the right and on to the track straight up hill. It was an amazing experience of fun, fear and excitement.

This is how our climbed up the hill, 300 meters high
We now head to the campsite where a convoy of camels awaits our arrival for short camel rides. We reached the village and relaxed in the traditional Bedouin tents. Enjoy an Arabian barbeque buffet dinner beside a blazing bonfire with traditional cups of coffee and dates, underneath the pitch-black night sky. After dinner, we settled on the Majlis (low cushions) and watched the belly dancing show performed by a beautiful, charming arabian girl. We were entertained by the dance to traditional Arabic music and we were welcome to join along. Kids have fun dressing up to male and female bedouin garments. After a satisfying adventure, we headed back to the city at almost 11:00pm

Wow Phoebes, hindi ba nakakanerbyos yung pag-akyat ng sasakyan sa sand dunes? Parang malapit matumba. :) I've heard about Dubai being a tourist destination, a lot of Americans are discovering it. Did you meet some Filipinos there, madaming overseas workers diyan. :)
Hi Guy, this time ikaw ang valedictorian ha. Thanks, yah, it's truly a nice experience for us. They still keep a lot of their own culture. It's good to learn of different people, different culture and even foods. It's enriching specially for the kids. Thanks Gay, ingat din

. Not too many people can do that, that living life to the fullest when you are able to do what pleases you especially like seeing the rest of the world. I wish we can do that, too, but it's too far na, almost impossible na unless we win a lottery
. That's the way to live, enjoy the wonders of nature. Anyway, at least we can see some photos since we can't travel sa mga places na beyond our reach
. Indi man pod mag travel akon bana sa mga ganong places kay kabalo ka na dangerous kay being sought after sila...
. Okay regards mi, and have a nice weekend.
Hi Anna, thanks for the note. Yah, it's fun to travel. True, but there's no where in the world where you can say you are safe. You can be in your luxurious bedroom, when it's your time, it's your time. Although I can understand the stand of not exposing targetted nationalities to the front line. Which is a good cautionary action. Anyway, take care and hope your pregnancy is going well
